Welcome to October!

Spring is well and truly upon us, and so are some fantastic events and happenings in our surrounding community for all to enjoy. For those who love celebrating Halloween, you can dress up in your best frightful costume for a Halloween Film party, or for those who tend to enjoy the arts and culinary events, partake in an enchanting performance of the Nutcracker by the Victorian State Ballet or indulge in a vegetarian feast at the Vego Fest. There is something exciting for all.

Go With The Flow Yoga 

When: Every Wednesday, throughout Daylight Savings 

Time: 6:30pm – 7:30pm

Where: The Chapel at The Old Cheesecake Factory, 34 Homestead Road, Berwick, VIC 3806

Cost: $10-25 donation 

Go with the Flow at this weekly Vinyasa yoga class for every level of experience, that links breath with movement to find strength, stability & ease with just a small donation to keep offering classes to the community. 

You will need to bring your own mat, towel, and water bottle. Yoga blocks are optional but a lovely addition. 

Donations start from $10 to $25 with the average being $15. This is a donation aligning with how you value the class and your current personal circumstances. 

$10 – pensioners or if experiencing financial difficulty

$15 – This is the average and for those who are looking for a weekly class to connect with community and grow 

$20 -$25+ – A donation that allows Go with the Flow to keep offering classes to the community, for pay-as-you-feel, to be accessible for everyone.

Victorian State Ballet: The Nutcracker

When: 7th – 8th October

Time: 7.30 pm (Sat), 2.30 pm (Sun)

Where: Bunjil Place Theatre, 2 Patrick Northeast Drive, Narre Warren, Victoria, 3805

Cost: $69

Be mesmerised by this spectacular performance by the Victorian State Ballet with the timeless classic tale, the Nutcracker, loved by adults and children alike. The enchanting story is told through the beautiful musical score of Tchaikovsky as ballerinas glide through the stage with precision and effortless form. 

This enchanting performance will have you fall in love with classical ballet.

Vego Fest

When: Sunday, 15th October

Time: 9am-3pm

Where: Old Cheese Factory, 34 Homestead Rd, Berwick VIC 3806

Cost: Free

Calling all vegetarians, vegans and curious foodies, Vego Fest is back with an exciting mix of stalls to ignite your taste buds. Explore and taste an array of delicious multicultural vegetarian dishes, not to mention exciting performances and activities to experience on the day. A perfect day out for the entire family to enjoy.

Halloween Film Party

When: Saturday, 28th October

Time: 6.30pm – 10.30pm

Where: Bunjil Place Plaza, 2 Patrick NE Dr, Narre Warren VIC 3805 

Cost: $7

An event for the big kids aged 15 and up –  get dressed up in your best frightening Halloween costume for a night of dancing and screen gazing featuring one of the best Halloween movies of all time!

Enjoy a Halloween themed disco in the plaza, with DJ Gliterally mixing all your favourite spooky tunes and rock your frock in front of the Halloween themed photo wall. As the night goes on, enjoy a series of quirky horror themed short films by Swinburne Film and Television and then settle in to watch the feature film of the night – Beetlejuice!

Casey Philharmonic Orchestra: Halloween

When: Sunday, 29th October

Where: Bunjil Place Theatre, 2 Patrick NE Dr, Narre Warren VIC 3805

Time: 2.30pm

Cost: $39

Enjoy a spooky performance by Casey Philharmonic Orchestra with a special Halloween theme of iconic Halloween music through the ages. Playing scores from the best and most notable Halloween films and TV series of all time, expect to groove to Beetlejuice, Psycho, Addams Family, Nightmare before Christmas and more.

For those who love to dress up in their spookiest gear, prizes will be given out to the best dressed, so come in your most menacing and/or frightening Halloween ensemble!
