After a rather warm summer, we have finally had a cold snap, but that doesn’t mean that our thriving community hasn’t got a wealth of exciting things in store for us all month long.

WINTER ARTS FESTIVAL

Proudly celebrating its 20th year, the Winter Arts Festival is back and better than ever, hosting stacks of events in multiple locations in our community all month long! 

Each year theatre groups, choirs, artists, crafters, dance troupes, community groups, venues, libraries and community hubs come together to light up your winter with creative inspiration. As one of Victoria’s largest and fastest-growing municipalities, the City of Casey is brimming with talent and culture and this is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the local arts community.  

From workshops, open mic sessions and talks, to musicals, and a song writing competition … There’s so much to choose from in this exciting program of events.

They are also throwing a huge bash to celebrate their 20th anniversary, with the most ambitious public offering yet at Bunjil Place. Casey Cornucopia will showcase the heritage of Casey’s foodways and the best produce in the region in a ground-breaking and innovative way. The Plaza will be transformed into an immersive garden abundant with oversized sculptures hidden amongst a swirl of the world’s first edible mist. See, taste, smell local produce as you have never experienced it before.

BERWICK FARMERS MARKET 

When: Every second Saturday monthly (11th June&25th June) 

Time: 8:00am-12:30pm

Where: The Old Cheese Factory, 34 Homestead Road, Berwick

Berwick Farmers Market is a great way to get out of the house on Saturday morning to go and buy your fresh produce for the week! 

Pop by to purchase the freshest produce and handmade goods straight from the farm to you! 

Fresh fruit and veggies, ethically raised meats, honey, baked goods, artisan breads, vegetable seedlings, jams and preserves, dairy, wine, nuts and much much more are all on offer. 

It’s a great way to kickstart a fantastic weekend with the whole family!

Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody are returning with a brand-new show in 2022 combining Queens ‘Greatest Hits’ and a few of the most popular songs on their albums.

Queen is amongst the greatest rock bands of the 20th century and Freddie Mercury is hailed by many as the most charismatic and flamboyant performer in contemporary rock. Now, fresh off the heels of the successful Bohemian Rhapsody movie, comes an all new Queen tribute show from well-known Australian Freddie Mercury impersonator Thomas Crane.

Thomas Crane with his band Bohemian Rhapsody, bring back to life the visual excitement, sound and stage energy as witnessed at a Queen concert.

All the great hits like We Will Rock You, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, We Are The Champions, Radio Ga Ga, A Kind of Magic, I Want To Break Free, Another One Bites the Dust, and Bohemian Rhapsody will be on show.

Don Quixote: Victorian State Ballet

Following sell out seasons, The Victorian Ballet is proud to bring to the stage this world famous, exciting and festive classical ballet treat.

Featuring a cast of internationally recognized artists, this year’s Don Quixote will showcase the superb and highly skilled artists of the Victorian State Ballet.

This is a full length traditional classical ballet production which has been choreographed by Michelle Sierra based on traditional choreographer, Marius Petipa.

CHANNEL YOUR INNER TIGER AT DINGLEY VILLAGE ADVENTURE GOLF

There’s nothing quite like a game of Adventure Golf. With enough fun and excitement to keep the little kids and the big kids entertained for hours, Dingley Village Adventure Golf has two unique 18-hole mini golf course for you to choose from:

  • The Chasm –  An indoor multi-level building that features a water wheel; perfect for those rainy days.  
  • The Creek – An Outdoor multi-level course. 

Each takes about only 1 hour to play, and are uniquely designed to challenge mini golfers of all abilities. You will be amazed at each of the cool hole designs and different settings.

Hit through the water wheel or watch your ball get sucked through to the next hole, but beware of the bunkers and water hazards!
