Welcome to April!

Happy Easter! What a way to start the month, with a long weekend… It doesn’t get any better than that!

April means school holidays, the Easter Bunny, chocolate, markets, festivals, and most importantly, family time. And, we are so lucky to live in such a thriving community offering a wealth of fun activities and events for everyone to enjoy.

Skye Equestrian Easter Egg-Stravaganza

When: Saturday 3rd April 2021.

Hold your horses! The Skye Equestrian Academy is inviting you to an Easter Egg-Stravaganza! For an Easter celebration to remember, bring the whole family to Skye Equestrian Academy for a fantastic community event.

Meet the Easter bunny, go on a treasure hunt, ride a pony, enjoy some arts & crafts, fun & games, enter some raffles and take some pictures in the photobooths! Food and drinks will be on offer as well as prizes and show bags to take home with you!

Running in 90 minute sessions guarantees that all the fun will be shared around, as well as making for a Covid safe environment. You won’t want to miss out on having such an egg-celent time, so book your tickets now!

Skye Equestrian Easter Egg-Stravaganza

 

Take A trip Down To The Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron For Their Easter Art Show

When: Saturday, 3rd April – Monday, 5th April
Time: 10:00am – 5:00pm
Where: Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron, 2900 Point Nepean Road, Blairgowrie, 3942
Cost: $25.00

This Easter long weekend, take a trip down to the Mornington Peninsula, and view some incredible, artistic media. New and returning artists will be joined by featured artist Claire McCall and photographer Ronald Tan, and outdoor sculptures will also take pride and palace on both the deck and lawn. The reputation of the Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron Easter Art Show speaks for itself – as this year, more than 90 artists and sculptors will exhibit an incredibly high standard of work for your viewing.

Tickets are available online and at the door each day over the long weekend, and include a complimentary glass of bubbles or beer, fingerfood and an Art Show Catalogue. Visitors are also welcome to enjoy the bistro and bar offerings at the club, as well as stay for the spectacular views of the bay from the deck, lawn or the beach. Akoonah Park “Essentials” Market

When: Every Sunday in April
Where: Akoonah Park, 2 Cardinia Street, Berwick
Cost: Free

Head to The Akoonah Park Market, which is back every Sunday in April. Offering all the ‘essentials’, you can expect many of your favourite fresh food stalls to be offering a variety of honey, bread, vegetables, jersey milk, cream & butter, and more!

There are over 350 indoor and outdoor stalls that run rain, hail or shine. Although there will be no dine in seating due to social distancing measures in place, make sure to come on an empty stomach as there will be hot coffee, fresh breakfast and delicious lunch options sorted by the food-truck lineup, for you to take on your way home.

This event is covid-safe but masks must be worn both indoors and outdoors, as maintenance of 1.5m is difficult on the market grounds. Pay attention to shed capacities, and use the QR codes at the entrances to sign in. The event is set to run, however subject to changing covid state wide restrictions.

Berwick Kids Sports Carnival

When: 11:00am – 1:00pm, Wednesday 7th April
Where: The Old Cheese Factory, Berwick
Cost: Free

Time to get active!

The Berwick Kids Sports Carnival is back at the Old Cheese Factory and will be better than ever!

This free event will have many games and activities on offer for children aged from 2 – 10, but the whole family is welcome to participate. This event is run by local clubs and organisations, who will not only provide all the fun, but delicious lunch packs from the Homestead Cafe for kids and adults.

Alternatively, bring along a rug and pack a picnic to spectate as the kids get active, and you listen to some live entertainment.

Don’t forget to dress up in your team’s colours or come as your favourite sports person.

Greater Dandenong Open Air Movies

When: 7:00pm – 9:30pm, Friday, 9th April
Where: Harmony Square, 225 Lonsdale St, Dandenong, VIC.
Cost: Free

Don’t miss your last chance to enjoy the outdoors and some spectacular free entertainment at the Greater Dandenong Open Air Movies.

The final screening will be the enchanting Irish animation Song Of The Sea, which tells the story of Ben and his little sister Saoirse, who embark on a fantastic journey across a fading world of ancient legend and magic in an attempt to return to their home by the sea.

A perfect flick for the whole family to enjoy.

Feel free to bring your own chairs and rugs, in case all provided chairs are taken, and enjoy a balmy evening with your family and friends.

Something for the whole family, Casey RACE offers all ages a day of unforgettable water fun.

This incredible purpose-built centre features an indoor 50m swimming pool, tandem raft slide, water slide, space bowl, splash park and more… and that’s just a few of the awesome activities on offer at the centre.

On special days and events you may even catch the Inflatable Obstacle Course, great for the little ones to practice their balance and ninja skills!

Known for being better than New York and Brooklyn pizza, and with takeaway boxes flying out the door, it is no wonder this pizzeria gets such a good wrap.
