Go For A Picnic At Cardinia Reservoir

Need a break from the hustle and bustle of your Christmas and New Years? Take a short drive to Cardinia Reservoir Park, just 30 minutes north of Eliston, great for families seeking a day out in a natural setting. The open parklands, picnic and barbeque areas, and native bush areas that are home to abundant wildlife and natural flora, are the many reasons this is one of Melbourne’s most popular outdoor destinations. While having a picnic among the trees, take a stroll along the dam and enjoy panoramic views of the park from the many lookout points – you may even spot several groups of wild Kangaroos that take home there, best seen early in the morning or late afternoon.

Whether you are looking for a place just to spend some quality family time, take a bike ride, go for a walk, or just to catch a glimpse of the animals, you are sure to find a special area in the park that meets your needs.
