Eliston is part of the City of Casey, host to some amazing local amenities with the neighbouring Western Port region just 15 minutes away. Discover what’s on in Clyde and around the City of Casey for April. We’ve rounded up some great activities in the local area over Easter and beyond including some fantastic free events!

You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown

When: 7th – 15th April

Where: Cranbourne Community Theatre

What: A Musical theatre event with a live orchestra. The time of the action for You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown is “an average day in the life of Charlie Brown”. It really is just that, a day made up of little moments picked from all the days of Charlie Brown, from Valentine’s Day to the baseball season, from wild optimism to utter despair. These are all mixed in with the lives of his friends (both human and non-human) on the string of a single day, from bright uncertain morning to hopeful starlit evening. Joining all these moments together are some beautiful and uplifting songs. An energetic and colourful production that will entertain the whole family!!

The Melbourne Easter Show

Where: Lawson Poole Recreation Reserve

What: Melbourne Easter Show is bringing a unique, family friendly “little big show” to the suburbs of Melbourne. Presenting all the hallmarks of a traditional style show, Melbourne Easter Show has it all – albeit without the expensive price tags!

Melbourne Easter Show presents the first free entry show of its kind to the families of Melbourne.

The team at Melbourne Easter Show want to bring all the experiences of the show.

The thrill of the rides, the joy of choosing a showbag and engaging children in an array of activities without the huge entry prices for families, unlike other events.

Combining free entry and free kids activities along with all the activities, rides, exhibitors, fireworks and live music means a fantastic day out for the family.

School Holiday Activities: Holiday Craft Play

What: Make a beautiful dreamcatcher or suncatcher at Selandra Community Place. You could even give it to Mum for Mother’s Day! Ages six to 12 years.

Rewilding Public Gardens: Facilitating Nature Play

When: 20 April 2017 | 9:30am – 4pm

What: Outdoor Learning for Early Childhood is a well-developed practice throughout much of the northern hemisphere. As an example, Scandinavian countries have been operating Forest Schools since the 1950s.

In the last decade in Victoria there has been a marked increase in the provision of outdoor learning for early childhood. Playing in natural environments is incredibly beneficial so natural resource managers also have an important stake in encouraging more nature spaces are available.

Join our early childhood outdoor learning forum to understand what a Bush Kinder is, why there is an increasing demand for outdoor play opportunities in natural spaces and what this means for you as a supporter.

All Access Free Sports Trials

Where: Casey Indoor Leisure Complex, 65 Berwick-Cranbourne Road, Cranbourne East 3977

When: 21 April 2017 | 10am – 2pm

What: All abilities access free sports trials. Volleyball, Badminton, Gymnastics and other activities.

Cost: This is a free event.

Nature Play Week at The Royal Botanical Gardens

What: Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria and Kids in Nature Network have teamed up to celebrate Nature Play Week with a range of programs for adults and children. Reconnect your kids with nature and the outdoors by ticking off the adventures on the ’50 things for kids to do’ checklist or borrowing a deck of the brand new ‘Go find it’ cards and heading out into the garden to play.
