What’s on in Clyde – December

November 30, 2020 in What's on in Clyde

HELLO DECEMBER!

Well done fellow Victorians, we are officially on the homestretch to 2021! If we’re being honest, we don’t really know how we all got through this year, but as a community, we’re pretty glad we did because the festive season is going to be amazing.

Now that restrictions have been eased and we can move outside of the 25km radius,  we can look forward to a day trip, eat at our favourite restaurants, go big on the Christmas shopping and just enjoy our community as a whole. After doing so well as a nation in this unexpected year, we all deserve to be rewarded and reminded of the simple pleasures in life.

So, this month we are offering up an impressive list of things to do in our once again thriving community this December.

We would also like to take this opportunity to wish both our current and future residents of Eliston a very happy and safe holiday season.

We hope that Santa is good to every one of you.

Enjoy!

Start Your Morning Off Right By Heading Off To The Mornington Peninsula Markets

Now we can venture on a day trip and school holidays are almost here, why not wake up early, bundle everyone into the car and start your day trip by heading down to the Main Street Markets in Mornington – just a 30 minute drive from Eliston. Held every Wednesday – rain, hail, or shine – you will find the town bustling with the chatter of locals and stallholders alike.

As you stroll through the street you will discover fashion, crafted toys, fresh produce, jewelry, baked goods and home decor.  The perfect destination for Christmas shopping!

The market is also renowned for their farm fresh produce, jams and hot food!

Plus, not only do you get to pick up some amazing goodies on your venture, but by shopping at the markets, you will be supporting local businesses who have struggled during the lockdown, so it’s a win for everyone.

Cool Off At The Rockpool Waterway At Royal Botanic Gardens In Cranbourne

It’s back! The Rockpool Waterway has finally reopened, just in time for summer.

After a long day exploring, take the kids to cool off at the Rockpool Waterway, which is a wide strip of concrete pavers over which a shallow stream of water flows – about ankle depth.

This water play area provides a neat compromise between adults and children. Kids love jumping from block to block up and down the stream, and once they have had their fun, adults will enjoy the beautiful walk back through the gardens.

The best part, however, is that all this waterway fun is free.

End Your Day In The Most Amazing Grace Way

We are all very excited about being able to dine out again, so if you are looking for a place for your next date night or to take the whole family, The Amazing Grace, located in Cranbourne, is an amazing option.

The Amazing Grace is a stunning smokehouse restaurant conversion of St Agatha’s Church (1929) that features multiple dining and drinking areas, and has two smokers dedicated to both meats and all other things vegetarian.

From beef brisket to smoke cabbage, pulled pork and smoked eggplants to baby back pork ribs and cured garlic tomatoes, all of the smokehouse produce is used in various delicious meals offered on the menu. The food can be enjoyed traditionally from the oven, on pizzas or pastas, in dips, or as entrees and sides.

Plus, whilst enjoying yourself in one of the outdoor areas, you can order your food at the table from the new iBistro App.

With its traditional pub flair, there is definitely something to suit everyone – including four-legged friends too!
