WELCOME TO MARCH!

As temperatures begin to cool and twilight lingers, there’s a distinctive festival feel in the air.

That’s right, prepare to enjoy yourselves in our glorious community this March as we celebrate the month of cultural diversity and all the exciting events that come along with it.

From festivals such as The Global Flavour Feast, Holland Festival, Harmony Day Festival & Casey Kids Carnival to renowned theatrical performances by Circus Oz and the Victorian Ballet, this is a month to enjoy the rich diversity of arts, culture and entertainment that our glowing community provides.

We hope you are as excited about our favourite picks of the month as much as we are.

CLEAN UP AUSTRALIA DAY

When: 9:00AM – 4:00PM, Saturday, 1st March 2020

Where: Multiple Locations

Cost: Free Entry

We live in a beautiful country and it’s important that we continue to work together as a community to keep it that way!

So, this Clean Up Australia Day why not nominate a local park, water way or reserve you want to get cleaned up and become a Clean Up Australia Leader! You can participate as an individual, business, school or community group, or simply rally some friends and family together. Or, you can join one of the many registered groups at sites across Casey.

HOLLAND FESTIVAL 2020

When: 10:00AM – 6:00PM, Saturday, 7th March 2020

Where: Akoonah Park, 2 Cardinia Street – Cnr of Princess Highway, Berwick

Cost: Adults $20, Children 13+ $5

The Holland Festival is about celebrating Dutch Food, Culture and Gezelligheid (aka Fun)!

Experience the tasty delights that Holland has to offer as you try Dutch classics such as Ollie Bollen, Kibbeling, Fries the Dutch way, Croquettes, Bitterballen, Fresh Stroopwafers, Poffertjes, Boterkoek. Plus, a 170 seat restaurant selling Boerenkoel, Rookworst and Bahmi Goreng will add another great element to your Dutch culinary experience.

There will also be some amazing live entertainment featuring a range of Australian artists with Dutch heritage, and an Amsterdam Street Organ will also be on hand to entertain in true Amsterdam style.

And if that wasn’t enough to get your clogs on, guests are encouraged to give Sjoelbak [pronounced Shool-buck] – a traditional, 19th Century Dutch tabletop shuffleboard game that anyone can play, a try with great prizes to be won.

For the little ones, Kermis (the word for A Dutch Children’s Festival) will see plenty of rides including Cups & Saucers, Merry Go Round, Dragon Ride and a Jumping Castle on offer and to make it price friendly, parents will be able to purchase a Kermis Wristband for $5 per child, which will allow unlimited access to all Kermis rides from 10am to 6pm.

SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE AT THE PARK – DUO 101

When: 6:00PM – 9:00PM, Saturday, 7th March, 2020

Where: Wilson Botanic Park, 668 Princess Highway, Berwick

Cost: $5 Donation to volunteers at the gate

There will be singing, swaying and live music playing as Saturday Night Live returns to Wilson Botanic Park Berwick for the popular Live Music series.

Pack a picnic, a blanket or some chairs, and gather your family and friends for a fun night out in the beautiful surroundings as you enjoy live music by the lake.

The lead acoustic performers of the evening will be Duo 101, who will entertain all with favourites from all styles of music including Jazz, Rock, Pop and Dance.

CASEY NIGHT MARKET

When: 5:00PM – 9:00PM, Thursday, 12th March

Where: Casey Central Shopping Centre, 400 Narre Warren – Cranbourne Road, Narre Warren

Cost: Free

The Night Market returns again this month, packed with fun and goodies for all to enjoy.

This family friendly event will feature local market stall holders, face painting, buskers and all you need for a fun night out.

So, come along for a bite to eat at one of the Centre’s amazing food retailers and browse all night long, whilst enjoying live music from buskers.

AURORA BY CIRCUS OZ

When: 7:30PM, Friday 13th & Saturday 14th March 2020

Where: Bunjil Place Theatre, 2 Patrick NE Drive, Narre Warren

Cost: Adults $45, Children (Under 15) $28

Let your spirit soar with Aurora by Circus Oz, an exciting family show featuring a host of silly and lovable arctic characters all performing spectacular acrobatic feats and hilarious physical comedy.

Fun for the whole family, Aurora is the latest creation by Circus Oz that will leave you gasping and laughing with delight.

You’ll love the adorable antics of the troupe of silly penguins as they ice-slide and fly high through the air and the journey with Polar Bear as she sings, foot-juggles and climbs her way to impossible heights.

And… you can watch in awe (or fear) as an acrobat head-balances precariously upside down, suspended over an ominous vat of toxic waste.

With original live music from the Circus Oz band, Aurora will have you bopping along for all 70 minutes of live action-packed entertainment.

GLOBAL FLAVOUR FEAST

When: 3:00PM – 8:00PM, Saturday, 21st March 2020

Where: Bunjil Place, 2 Patrick NE Drive, Narre Warren

With delicious treats from around the globe on your back doorstep – this is a festival of tasty dishes that you won’t want to miss! Join in on the fun and celebrate south-east Melbourne’s rich diversity of food and culture with cuisines from India, Africa, Asia and Europe.

Enjoy a meal in the pop-up dining hall, watch a cooking demonstration with samples to taste,  immerse yourself in cultural performances or enjoy a ‘slower pace’ with a cultural art workshop. There’s something to get everyone excited at the Global Flavour Feast!

ENDEAVOUR HILSS HARMONY DAY FESTIVAL

When: 12:00PM – 2:30PM, Saturday, 21st March 2020

Where: Endeavour Hills Library, 10 Raymond McMahon Blvd, Endeavour Hills

In celebration of Cultural Diversity Week, join in on the fun at Endeavour Hills Library for a free Community event featuring non-stop cultural entertainment.

From Indian dancing, free international foods to sample and arts and craft for the kids to loads of other fun activities, there will be something for all to enjoy.

BEAUTY & THE BEAST – VICTORIAN STATE BALLET

When: 7:30PM, Saturday, 28th March 2020

A tale as old as time brought to life through ballet – the classic love story of Belle and her Beast is dancing onto the big stage.

Fresh from their tour of Swan Lake, Victorian State Ballet return with a beautiful retelling of the classic fairy-tale of Beauty and the Beast.

This is a must see stunning full length classical ballet production featuring internationally recognised artists displaying outstanding skill in leading roles.

Enjoy all your favourite characters with exhilarating solos and pas de deuxs from the stunning leading couple, a very moving transformation, a grand waltz and happily ever after scene for the ages.

CASEY KIDS CARNIVAL

The Casey Kids Carnival is one of the City of Casey’s most celebrated events and includes a FREE day of activities and performances. The carnival is aimed at children aged 0-12 and their families.

This fun day out includes a huge amount of entertainment including:

  • interactive games
  • roving entertainers
  • face painters
  • art and crafts
  • live animals

AFL WOMEN – MELBOURNE VS GOLD COAST SUNS

When: 4:00PM – 7:30PM, Sunday, 29th March 2020

Where: Casey Fields, 160 Berwick Cranbourne Road, Cranbourne

Cost: Free Entry

Melbourne Demons host the Gold Coast Suns for some Footy Fun at Casey Fields in the last round of the NAB AFL Women’s Competition. Join the crowds and support our Demons at this nail biting and sure to be action packed game.
